Round 4

Jeremy went in for his fourth treatment yesterday. The fluids have been building up again and he hasn’t been eating or drinking much this week. We didn’t see his body release any fluids after the the third treatment like we did with the second treatment. Yesterday he was even contemplating holding off his treatment based on how he was feeling. The oncologist agreed to have a paracentesis (drain) done since the benefits outweigh the risks. He has to wait until Monday morning to have it done because he has to be off the blood thinner that he has been taking for 5 days. He will still be on a blood thinner, just one that won’t stay in his system as long. Since Jeremy will have another scan done next week, he really wanted to push through and do the treatment so that that could take place. He wants to know if there is any progress. The oncologist seems to think so based on the fact that the need for a paracentesis is becoming longer in between.

He slept a lot during treatment yesterday.  We both have been a bit apprehensive leading up to this treatment. Chemo is definitely challenging.  I am counting down the hours until his pump is taken off of him (30 more hours)  though I know everything is going to be a challenge until he gets the procedure done on Monday.

So here are the prayer requests:
1. He can  eat and drink despite the fluids not giving him any room to do so.
2. His body will release the fluids on it own.
3. Strength. He feels very weak right now.
4. A successful procedure with no complications on Monday and that it will give him MUCH relief.
5. Blood clot will dissolve.
6. Weight gain (because that equals energy)
7. Healing. Cancer sucks.

Thank you for checking in on Jeremy and for all your thoughts and prayers. Reactions count:53
