Unfortunately, we are still at the hospital. Jeremy’s kidney function continues to misbehave, so tomorrow he goes under anesthesia for another procedure that will help his kidneys drain and hopefully return his kidney function to normal. It’s not one that we wanted for him but he’s still fighting. He still wants to fight. My quiet, laid back husband is turning into the bravest and strongest fighter I have ever met.

Today one of our dearest friends jumped in her car pretty much as soon as she got my text that I was a mess today. I love that she was already 20 minutes into her journey to us before she realized she had no idea where we actually were. This made me laugh pretty hard when she told me but also want to squeeze her for the beautiful soul that she is. Elizabeth was my roommate when Jeremy moved to Atlanta so she’s been with us from the very beginning of “Dee and Jeremy” and is so woven into our story.  She was what we needed today. So the three of us laughed together, she and I cried together, she sat with Jeremy when I went to get the kids and they talked… Really talked … and probably made a couple inappropriate jokes… cuz that’s how they are when they are together.   She and Jeremy have always had a beautiful, very  funny friendship. And for that I am grateful.  Jeremy even told me tonight, she was good for our souls. She was.

So though we are tired, we are grateful. Grateful for a health team that truly cares for Jeremy (seriously even the tiny little registration lady who sees us a lot for his procedures asked if she could hug me today),  a best friend who will leave her work because her spirit told her she needed to come, to the unexpected surprise that Lola was going to be his night nurse.

We could use your prayers tomorrow. Just all encompassing prayers would be great.
